The bodies of rifleman Gautam Kumar from Kotdwar and Virendra Singh from Chamoli who laid down their lives in the line of duty in Jammu and Kashmir were brought to Dehradun airport on Monday.
Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami paid floral tributes to the martyrs at the airport. The chief minister said that the nation will always remember these martyrs who had made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of the nation. He said that the State government always stands with the families of soldiers.
Dhami also talked to the family members of Gautam Kumar and Virendra Singh, and consoled them. The chief minister said that the martyrdom attained by the soldiers in the service of the nation will always inspire the citizens to serve the nation. It will be recalled that Kumar and Singh had lost their lives in a terrorist ambush on December 21 in the Rajouri sector of Jammu and Kashmir.
