CM tests positive for Covid, goes into home isolation

Likely to attend Vidhan Sabha session in virtual mode

Chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has tested positive for Covid-19. The CM tweeted on Friday that his Covid test report had come out positive. He stated that his health is fine and that he is asymptomatic. On the advice of doctors he has gone into home isolation. Rawat further requested all those who had come into contact with him in the past few days to isolate themselves and get tested.

According to sources in the chief minister’s office, the test result of the CM came out positive after the staff members in the chief minister’s office were tested for Covid. It is being said that the CM may attend the Vidhan Sabha session starting from Monday virtually. It is pertinent to mention here that in the past too when Rawat had to go into home isolation after a cabinet colleague and then some members of his staff tested positive for Covid, he had continued his work through the virtual and telephonic modes from home.

Meanwhile, Uttarakhand governor Baby Rani Maurya and BJP State president Banshidhar Bhagat wished the CM a speedy recovery.
