CM urges citizens to make cleanliness a part of their lifestyle

A State-wide cleanliness campaign was organised on Sunday in 102 civic bodies of the State to raise awareness among people regarding sanitation and sensitise them about the wrong practices that are degrading the environment. Apart from civic bodies, various bodies including all district administrations and district police also conducted sanitation programmes on Sunday as part of this campaign undertaken on a call given by the Uttarakhand High Court.

The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also participated in one such event organised at Gandhi Park in Dehradun and appealed to the people to make cleanliness a part of their lifestyle. The CM also participated in cleaning efforts from the Gandhi Park to the Deendayal Upadhyay park. He also felicitated 10 Paryawaran Mitra for doing commendable work in the field of cleanliness.

In addition to this, Dhami also administered oath to people for cleanliness. He said that a major campaign for cleanliness was conducted in a total of 102 civic bodies to raise awareness about cleanliness among citizens. He said that lakhs of devotees and tourists come to the State from different parts of the country and the world and it is the responsibility of every person to keep every district and tourist place of the State clean and beautiful.

He said that various cleanliness programmes are being organised with public participation to make Dehradun “Clean Doon, Beautiful Doon” and urged the people to make cleanliness a part of their family life.
