As the Char Dham Yatra has commenced with the portal opening of all the four shrines, the administrative vigilance regarding health facilities has intensified in Uttarkashi district- home to two of them. The district chief medical officer Dr B S Rawat has begun surprise inspection at the screening points and health facilities running along the pilgrimage route.
Meanwhile, after a social media video had surfaced showing the lack of first aid facilities at Yamunotri Dham, the district magistrate sought an explanation from the CMO. The sub-divisional officer, Barkot, was also directed to investigate the matter and submit a report.
