Over 500 ex-servicemen, war widows participate in rally & medical camp

The Headquarters 9 (Independent) Mountain Brigade Group organised an ex-servicemen rally and medical camp for the district’s ex-servicemen, veer naris and their dependents at Manera Sports Stadium. Over 500 from across the district participated in the event.
Colonel Rajiv Bansal, SO ECHS & Veterans, Station Headquarters Joshimath presided over the programme while Colonel B S Gahlawat and Lieutenant Colonel Pratap Singh were present among others.
In his address, Colonel Bansal stated that veterans from the Garhwal region have made incomparable contributions to nation-building and border security. “The Army, always committed to their honour and welfare, will address all problems veterans face in civilian life after retirement,” he added.
Lieutenant Colonel Singh said that the doors of the Garhwal Rifles Regimental Centre’s Record Office are always open for the veterans.
The veterans expressed their appreciation for the programme, stating that such events serve as an effective means of addressing their problems.
