Dehradun Police have registered a case against the management of DIT University for allegedly violating government directives during the state mourning period declared following the death of former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Bhuwan Chandra Khanduri.
Notably, the Uttarakhand government had announced a three-day state mourning period after Khanduri’s demise. During this period, the Director of Secondary Education had issued directions to all educational institutions across the state to refrain from organising cultural or entertainment programmes.
Police said the case was registered following allegations that an event was held at the university despite the government advisory being in force. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
