Taking a dig at Congress party, the president of Uttarakhand BJP Mahendra Bhatt has said that it is surprising that those who have objection over the name Bharat are celebrating the anniversary of Bharat Jodo Yatra. Interacting with the media persons here on Thursday, Bhatt said that Bharat name is given by the Sanatani culture. He said that actually the Congress and other opposition party leaders are opposed to the Sanatan dharma and its culture. The State president of BJP said that it appears a competition has occurred in the leaders of INDIA alliance to insult Sanatan dharma and its culture. The name Bharat carries forward the tradition of King Bharat who was the flag bearer of Sanatan culture.
Launching an attack on the Congress party, Bhatt said that it uses the name Bharat for political gains and now it is celebrating the anniversary of Bharat Jodo Yatra. He said that it is unfortunate that the state Congress leaders find nothing wrong in the criticism of Bharat name by its party leaders and alliance partners. Bhatt said that the name Bharat is connected historically with Kanva ashram located in Kotdwar but appears that the Congressmen of Uttarakhand have respect for the culture, tradition and identity of the State. The entire episode has exposed the double standards adopted by the Congress party, he added.
