Lashing out at the Congress over the thwarted women reservation bill, the BJP state media in-charge, Manveer Singh Chauhan said that the Congress has been staging a cheap drama under the guise of a dharna outside the Vidhan Sabha. “That party was instrumental in blocking the bill and now they are indulging in histrionics,” she said, adding that the women would teach them hard lessons for the betrayal of their cause.
Calling the Congress protest on the issue as misleading, he said that it is now trying to salvage its lost political credibility. “Congress has been avoiding the issue for the past 27 years and now they thwarted the Narendra Modi government’s determined bid. They even celebrated the defeat of the bill,” he said.
He further said that the women of Uttarakhand are well aware of the political intentions of the Congress. “So they cannot be deceived,” he averred.
