The Bharatiya Janata Party has stated that the allegations levelled by the Congress regarding the law and order situation in the State are nothing more than disinformation. Responding to allegations levelled by the Mahila Congress State president Jyoti Rautela, the BJP State media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan said that it is clear that important decisions have been taken by the State government for the social, economic and other types of security for women.

He said that instead of being negative, the Congress should openly acknowledge the decisions taken in favour of women. The decisions taken in the interests of women by the State government are also an example for the nation, he claimed. Talking to The Pioneer regarding the allegations made by Rautela based on claims made by BJP leader Subramanian Swamy and Madhu Kishwar, he said that having failed so far to bring Prime Minister Narendra Modi down, his rivals are now attacking his character in vain. The people are well aware of his character and continue to trust him, Chauhan said.

Referring to steps taken by the State government for the upliftment of women, he cited the Lakhpati Didi scheme and horizontal reservation for women, which he termed as a historic decision. “The implementation of the Uniform Civil Code is an example for the nation as it also provides a protective shield to women. The UCC prevents physical and mental exploitation of women. Additionally, the strict anti-conversion law has made it harder to dupe women and exploit them,” Chauhan said.

The BJP State media in-charge further said that while spreading disformation on the law and order situation, the Congress should keep in mind that in case of a crime, the report is lodged, investigation is conducted and legal action is ensured based on the allegations. Compared to this, it was rare for reports to be lodged when the Congress was in office, he added.
