PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Dehradun

Senior vice president of Uttarakhand Congress, Suryakant Dhasmana has said that the Uttarakhand government should immediately implement Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal to the nation to reduce petrol and diesel consumption on the ground in the State and promote work from home culture.

In a statement on Monday, Dhasmana said that the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami should immediately issue orders to reduce the convoys of the Governor, himself and all the ministers drastically with only one vehicle and a security escort. All the officers should be asked to use only one vehicle so that the PM’s appeal can be effectively implemented, he said.

Dhasmana added that with this step Uttarakhand will become the first State in the country to take such an exemplary initiative. He said that this would not only save petrol and diesel, but would also provide some relief to the State’s citizens from traffic jams and the noise of honking horns.
