Urban Development minister Ram Singh Kaida has rejected allegations regarding Uttarakhand Investment and Infrastructure Development Board (UIIDB) levelled by Pradesh Congress Committee president Ganesh Godiyal, stating that the Congress lacks facts, logic and a development vision for the State. This is why it is attempting to mislead the public by spreading the imaginary figure of 7,000 bigha land sold in the State, he said.
Kaida said, “The PCC chief should first state where the 7,000 bigha land was sold. The government has clarified that talk of 7,000 bigha land being allocated to UIIDB is baseless. Only 45 acres of land has been made available to the board so far and there is no process underway to receive 7,000 bigha land. The Congress is spreading the lie that the government is selling government land whereas in fact, the ownership will remain with the State government and it will be used for investment projects based on rules and conditions under a lease model. The lease period is 60 years and not 90 years,” he said. The minister alleged that the Congress sees a scam in every development work because its politics is based on spreading confusion and fear instead of development. The purpose of UIIDB is not to permanently provide government land to any person or private organisation but to enable planned use of available resources to bring investment and general employment opportunities in sectors like tourism, hospitality, wellness, health and information technology.
Kaida said, “The State government under chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami understands the value of Uttarakhand’s land and resources while also focusing on the future of youths. The aim of the government is to secure government resources while enabling their better use as per the rules to boost investment and employment in the State. The target of a developed India and Uttarakhand by 2047 irks the Congress because it sees politics even in development. There is scope for considerable investment in the tourism, health, education, wellness and hospitality sectors in Uttarakhand and the UIIDB has been formed for this purpose,” he added. Facts are bigger than the lies of the Congress. The Dhami government will secure the State’s land, attract investment and provide employment opportunities to the youth. The Congress will have to reply to the public for its politics aimed at stalling development in Uttarakhand, the minister said.
