A 57-year-old school principal was arrested for allegedly committing wrongful acts with a 15-year-old boy studying in his school. The accused has been identified as S Vohra Sarthak, who runs Cambridge School in Paundha near Premnagar. The police said that the accused was produced before the court which sent him to jail on Tuesday.
The case came to light on July 20, when the victim’s father went to the Premnagar police station to file a written complaint. He told the police that his son had been very quiet and kept to himself for some time. When the father talked to him and asked what was wrong, the boy revealed that the school principal had done obscene and inappropriate things to him.
Taking the complaint seriously, the Dehradun senior superintendent of police Pramendra Dobal formed a special police team which arrested the accused. The police have registered a case against him under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 .
