Connect youth with employment through Sanskrit language: CM

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has stressed on the need for connecting youth with employment through the Sanskrit language. He said that certificate courses should be offered in Yagya, Karmkand and Vedas.

The CM issued these directions while chairing the 10th general body meeting of Uttarakhand Sanskrit Academy on Thursday. The CM said that the training of 16 Sanskars should be arranged for the children studying Sanskrit and 100 children should be selected for this in the first phase. An honorarium should be given to persons playing an important role in teaching, writing, preservation and promotion of Sanskrit in the State.

Dhami said that Uttarakhand has been the land of Yoga, Ayush, saints and Sanskrit. Sanskrit debates, essay writing and Shloka recitation competitions should be organised in schools and colleges to promote the State’s second language.  He added that nodal officers should be appointed in the districts to promote Sanskrit and the nameplates in all offices should also be in Sanskrit language. 

Cabinet minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that the government will develop 13 villages, one in every district as Sanskrit village. He suggested scholarship to students and incentive schemes for priests should be planned to promote Sanskrit in the State. In the meeting, the committee members suggested that Sanskrit questions should be added in competitive examinations and research in the language should be encouraged.
