Consecutive victories under Modi shows people vote on works, not slogans: CM

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said the consecutive victories of Bharatiya Janata Party in the Lok Sabha elections of 2014, 2019 and 2024 under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has proven that the people of the country now vote on performance and not on slogans.

He was interacting with the media at the State office of the BJP on Friday. Dhami said that PM Modi has completed 12 years in office and this period has been dedicated to public welfare, good governance, service, welfare of the poor and upliftment of the people.

The CM said that on October 7, 2026, Modi will also complete 25 years of public life, holding important responsibilities as both chief minister and PM. He averred that since 2014, under the leadership of Modi, India has become a confident, secure and globally respected nation. He said that during the Congress regime, plans were made on paper, whereas under the Modi government, plans are implemented on the ground.

Launching an attack on the Congress, the CM said that while the party gave the slogan of ‘ Garibi Hatao’, PM Modi has ensured that 25 crore people come out of poverty.  He said that corruption was part of the system in the Congress government but the Modi government has transferred Rs 4.31 lakh crore directly to beneficiaries’ accounts through DBT. Dhami said that while the Congress party dodged the people on the Ram temple issue and called Ram Setu amyth, a grand Ram temple was constructed in Ayodhya under Modi. Accusing the Congress party of adopting policy of appeasement and engaging in vote bank politics, the CM said that the Modi government believes in development of every section of the society.

He said that the Modi government has provided Kisan Samman Nidhi to farmers and 81 crore people have received free rations. A total of four crore poor people have got Pucca houses and 11 crore women have benefited from the Ujjwala Yojana. 

Terming Uttarakhand as Veerbhoomi, the CM said that today, New India responds to terrorism by hitting inside the enemy territory.

He said under PM Modi the Naxalism is shrinking and the scope of development is continuously expanding.

The CM said that the PM has a special affinity towards Uttarakhand and under his leadership the development projects worth more than Rs three lakh crore are underway in Uttarakhand.  He averred that the Kedarnath and Badrinath Dham redevelopment projects have established Devbhoomi on the global spiritual map.

 DEHRADUN: Chief Minister Dhami said that during his recent visit, the people of remote Mana village informed him that all the women in the village are now Lakhpati Didis. He said that under the PM’s leadership, more than 2.54 lakh women in the State have become Lakhpati Didis. The CM said that under the vibrant village scheme the border villages of the country are being developed.

The CM said the visit of PM Modi has brought a many fold increase in the number of pilgrims visiting Adi Kailash and Jageshwar Dham. He added that the Char Dham All Weather Road, Rishikesh-Karnprayag Rail Project and Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor have brought revolutionary changes in connectivity.
