A meeting in the Nainital municipality was disrupted on Thursday after which the board meeting slated to be held on Saturday was postponed.
During an audit in the municipality on Thursday evening, an argument escalated when a ward member entered the room, following which the chairperson Saraswati Khetwal objected to it. This escalated the disagreement.
The other ward members reached the room on learning about the disagreement and the chairperson informed the police as the situation deteriorated. The ward members accused the municipality chairperson of misbehaviour and unnecessarily calling the police and announced that they will boycott the board meeting called on Saturday.
