Covid-19; 13 deaths, 516 fresh cases reported in U’khand
Death toll climbs to 1251, total cases 75784, recovered patients 68838
The death toll from the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) in Uttarakhand mounted to 1251 on Wednesday with the state health department reporting 13 deaths from the disease. The department also reported 516 fresh cases of the disease on the day which further increased the tally of the disease to 75784 in the state. The authorities discharged 473 patients from different hospitals of the state after their recovery on Wednesday. A total of 68838 patients have so far recovered from the disease in the state. The recovery percentage from the disease is now at 90.83.
Five patients of the pandemic were reported dead at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh on Wednesday. Similarly three patients succumbed to the disease at Kailash hospital, Dehradun. Two patients were reported dead at Mahant Indiresh hospital Dehradun while one patient each was reported dead at District hospital Bageshwar, HNB Base hospital Srinagar and Sushila Tiwari government hospital Haldwani on the day.
The provisional state capital Dehradun continues to face the wrath of the disease with authorities reporting 194 fresh cases of the disease from here on Wednesday. Haridwar reported 68, Nainital 67, Udham Singh Nagar 47, Almora 33, Pithoragarh 26, Pauri Garhwal 20, Chamoli 17, Champawat 16, Tehri 10, Uttarkashi eight, Rudraprayag seven and Bageshwar three cases of the disease on Wednesday.
The state now has 4995 active cases of the disease. Dehradun is maintaining its lead in the tally of active cases with 1384 cases while with 658 active cases, Haridwar is at second spot. Nainital has 441; Pauri 411, Pithoragarh 398, Udham Singh Nagar 325, Tehri 272, Chamoli 265, Almora 213, Champawat 209, Uttarkashi 164 and Bageshwar 127 active cases of the disease. With only 83 active cases of Covid-19, Rudraprayag now is at the bottom of the table.
