Covid-19; 68 new cases, 250 recoveries in U’khand on Monday

The state health department reported only 69 new cases of novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) on Monday. Death of two patients and recovery of 250 patients was also reported on the day. The cumulative count of Covid-19 patients in the state has now increased to 3,40,793 while a total of 3,25,942 patients have so far recovered from the disease. In the state 7335 people have so far lost their lives to Covid -19. The recovery percentage from the disease is now at 95.64 and the sample positivity rate is at 6.03 per cent in the state. The authorities collected 22,782 samples in different parts of the state on Monday.
Death of one patient each was reported at Sushila Tiwari government hospital Haldwani and Prasad Doon Hospital Dehradun on the day.
The department reported 16 patients from Uttarkashi, nine each from Dehradun and Udham Singh Nagar, eight each from Haridwar and Nainital, six each from Almora and Pithoragarh, three from Rudraprayag, two from Tehri, and one each from Bageshwar and Chamoli on Monday. No new patient of Covid 19 was detected from Champawat and Pauri districts on the day.
The state now has 1,555 active patients of the disease. Dehradun district is at top of the table in the list of active cases with 602 cases while Bageshwar is in the second position with 179 active cases. Nainital has 130, Pithoragarh 120, Pauri 116, Chamoli 94, Champawat 82, Uttarkashi 71, Tehri and Rudraprayag 40 each, Udham Singh Nagar 35, Almora 27 and Haridwar 19 active cases of the disease.
The state reported two new cases of Mucormycosis (Black fungus) on Monday. One patient was reported dead from the disease on the day. A total of 509 patients of the disease have so far been reported in the state out of which 110 have died.
In the ongoing vaccination drive, the health department vaccinated 89,627 people in 845 sessions held on the day. A total of 9,06,678 people have been fully vaccinated so far in the state while 37,58,050 have received the first dose of the vaccine in the state.
