The Rishikesh-Neelkanth road was blocked on Wednesday morning for traffic after a 30 meter stretch caved in ahead of the Garud Chatti bridge near Lachman Jhula. While two persons were injured two others were missing. Besides, as per police, a truck might have plunged into the swollen river or might have been buried under the rubble.
SDRF along with other rescue teams rushed to the spot. While the injured were sent to a nearby hospital efforts were on to trace the missing duo. The SDRF inspector Kavindra Sajwan said that the rescue operations have been going on in full swing. JCBs had been put into operation to clear the debris, he added.
