Covid-19 Death toll mounts to 1,489 in U’khand

Six deaths, 205 fresh cases reported on Monday

The death toll from the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) in Uttarakhand mounted to 1,489 on Monday with the state health department reporting the death of six patients. The department also reported 205 fresh cases of the disease on the day which increased the tally of the disease to 89,850. The authorities discharged 305 patients from different hospitals on the day after their recovery from the disease.  A total 81,688 patients have recovered from the disease so far and the recovery percentage now stands at 90.92 and the sample positivity rate is 5.18 percent.

Two patients of the Covid-19 were reported dead at District Hospital Pithoragarh on Monday. One patient each was reported dead at Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital Dehradun, Himalayan hospital Dehradun, Mahant Indiresh Hospital, Dehradun and District hospital Almora on Monday.

Out of 305 patients discharged on the day, 104 were from Chamoli, 50 from Dehradun and 49 from Udham Singh Nagar.

The health department reported 83 new patients from Dehradun, 36 from Nainital, 20 from Haridwar, 17 from Udham Singh Nagar, 13 from Champawat, 12 from Uttarkashi, eight from Pauri Garhwal, seven from Chamoli, four from Bageshwar, three from Pithoragarh and two from Tehri Garhwal on Monday.

Uttarakhand now has 5511 active cases of the disease. Dehradun is at continuing to remain at top of the table of active cases with 1615 cases while with 1067 active cases Nainital is at second spot. Haridwar is at third spot with 450 active cases. Pithoragarh has 407, Uttarkashi 354, Tehri 290, Almora 278, Pauri 224, Udham Singh Nagar 214, Champawat 177 and Bageshwar 155 and Chamoli 147 active cases of the disease. With 103 active cases of Covid-19, Rudraprayag is now at the bottom of the table of active cases of Covid-19.
