Covid-19: Two deaths, 547 new cases reported in U’khand

The Covid-19 caseload in Uttarakhand is getting heavier with each passing day. On Monday the state health department reported 547 new cases of the disease which took the cumulative count of the patients in the state to 102811. 

The department also reported the death of two patients of the disease on the day. In the state 1729 patients have so far lost their lives due to the Covid-19.

The authorities discharged 323 patients from different hospitals of the state following their recovery on Monday. A total of 96296 patients have recovered from the disease in the state and the recovery percentage is now at 93.66 and the sample positivity rate is 3.62 percent. 

The authorities reported 224 new cases of the disease from Dehradun, 194 from Haridwar, 51 from Udham Singh Nagar, 33 from Nainital, 21 from Pauri, 16 from Tehri, two each from Almora, Chamoli and Rudraprayag and one each from Champawat and Bageshwar. No new cases of the disease were reported from Pithoragarh and Uttarkashi districts on the day. 

The health department reported the death of 63 year old Mahant Indiresh hospital Dehradun on Monday. Similarly a 54 old male died at Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital on the day.

The state now has 3201 active patients of the disease. Dehradun continues to be at the top of the table of active cases of the disease with 1251 patients, Haridwar has 897, Nainital 252, Udham Singh Nagar 231, Tehri 166, Pauri 149, Almora 70, Uttarkashi 58, Bageshwar 43, Rudraprayag 31, Champawat 22, Pithoragarh 16 and Chamoli 15 active cases of Covid-19. 

 In the ongoing vaccination drive against the disease, 54386 people were vaccinated in different parts of the state on Monday which is the highest in a day. 

In the state 145289 people have been fully vaccinated so far as they have received both the first and second dose of the vaccine. 

The Chief Operations Officer (COO) of state Covid-19 control room, Dr Abhishek Tripathi said that 577 vaccine sessions were organised in different parts of the state on Monday.

 In Dehradun 119 vaccine sessions were organised in which 11394 persons above 45 years of age, 89 healthcare workers and 56 frontline workers were vaccinated on Monday.
