Industrial smart city in Kichha: Secretary, Industry, visits Khurpia Farm

With the plan to develop  an industrial smart city on 1,002 acres of land at Khurpia Farm kept in view, the secretary, Industry, Vinay Shankar Pandey inspected the farm with SIIDCUL general manager, Saurabh Gaharwar to determine how to develop its infrastructure on Wednesday.  He then inspected the proposed SIIDCUL development works being carried out on 1,354 acres at Parag Farm. Moreover, he discussed the industry-related issues with some entrepreneurs in the SIIDCUL premises in Pantnagar.

The senior superintendent of police, Manikant Mishra, regional manager, SIIDCUL Pantnagar Manish Bisht and Kichha SDM Gaurav Pandey were also present during the inspection.

Notably, the Central government has announced an industrial smart city in Khurpia Farm under the Amritsar-Kolkata Industrial Corridor. An investment of approximately Rs 28,602 crore has been estimated for implementing this project. A total of 12 projects have been proposed on this land. Under this project, a slew of industries will be set up here which will not only create new employment opportunities but boost the economic development of the region. Under this project, the State government has taken several steps to promote industrial development and provide employment opportunities. A host of incentives and facilities have been announced to attract industries. “Infrastructure like road, rail and air connectivity will be strengthened to help Kichha emerge as a thriving industrial hub,”  Bisht said.
