CS inspects preparations for Haridwar Kumbh Mela 2027

Chief secretary Anand Bardhan conducted an inspection of the Kumbh Mela area on Friday and reviewed the preparations for the Haridwar Kumbh- 2027. The CS firmly told the officers that all construction and development works should be completed before December 2026.
The CS instructed the Mela officer, DM and other officers that it is the priority of the Chief Minister that the Kumbh of 2027 should be organized in a divine and grand manner. He said that work of installing railing on the Ghats should be completed on priority. The CS directed that all the works should be completed within the stipulated time frame.
The CS inspected the work for construction of multi-model hub at Gauri parking site on Najibabad highway, construction of ropeway to Chandi Devi temple, cultural hub at Neeldhara near Divya Prem Mission Ashram and construction site for laser show at Namami Gange Ghat Neeldhara.
He also inspected camp sites of various Akhadas in Bairagi camp area and construction site of 15 new ghats on Mayapur escape channel in Bairagi camp and Dakshindweep area. He also visited the site of Kankhal canal front development project near Nakshatra Vatika and inspected works for connecting to the Daksh temple.
In his visit the CS also held interaction with public representatives, representatives of Ganga Sabha, Vyapar Mandal, Press club and other stakeholders at CCR auditorium. In the meeting he sought suggestions to make the Haridwar Kumbh-2027, majestic and divine. The CS assured all stakeholders and public representatives that the Mela officer and the Haridwar DM will take cognisance of all the suggestions and include them in the preparations for Kumbh.
Kumbh Mela officer Sonika, district magistrate Mayur Dixit and senior officers of administration and police accompanied the CS.
