CWC & JJB should work as team for benefit of Children- Arya

The Women Empowerment and Child Development minister, Rekha Arya said that the members of the newly constituted Child Welfare Committee (CWC) and Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) should work as a team to provide the benefit of government schemes for the children. She was addressing the inaugural session of three-day training of the members and chairmen of the CWC and JJB in a virtual mode here on Thursday. Congratulating the chairmen and members of the CWC and JJB, the minister said that the children would be protected in a better manner under their patronage. She said that the Vatsalya scheme is being made more public oriented in which the children whose parents died during the pandemic of Covid-19 but there is no medical certificate of the death are being given benefit under the scheme on the basis of an affidavit.
Secretary HC Semwal said three day training would help the chairmen and the members in discharging their duties in a better manner. He said that priority would be given to training and capacity building of the members so the child protection is strengthened in the state.
The training sessions were addressed by Justice V K Maheshwari and Justice Amar Saran.
The chairperson of State Commission for Protection of Child Rights ( SCPCR), Dr Geeta Khanna and others also addressed the session.
