Daylight robbery committed in Nehru Colony area of Doon

Four armed men held three women hostage and robbed a house in the Nehru Colony area of Dehradun in broad daylight on Tuesday. The officials said that the incident occurred in a house located in the C block of Nehru Colony on Tuesday afternoon.  The owner of the house is Sandeep Aggarwal who runs a private school in the city and his wife, sister and mother were present in the house at the time of the robbery, as per the officials. The officials said that as per the victims, a young man entered their house after 12 PM on Tuesday and three men entered after him. One of them had a pistol and the other men were brandishing knives as per the victims, said the officials. According to them, the home owner’s mother and sister were in the lower part of the house where the robbers threatened them and demanded that they give them their jewellery and money. Both the women gave them gold jewellery and cash of about Rs 12,000 but the owner’s wife who was upstairs heard the loud noises and called her husband on the phone after which all four robbers escaped from the house, said the officials. The officials said that the police have started probing the matter. According to them, the robbers allegedly used a Scooty to get to the house and escape from there. Police are analysing CCTV footage of the area to gather more evidence against them and will nab them soon, said the officials.
