Amid the persistent surge in Covid-19 positive cases in Dehradun district, the district administration has announced Covid curfew in four more areas of the district. Besides this, the administration also changed the closing time of shops from 4 PM to 2 PM in the areas under the curfew. The Dehradun district magistrate, Ashish Kumar Srivastava recently issued orders of imposing Covid curfew from 7
PM on April 26 to 5 AM on May 3 in areas under the municipal corporations of Dehradun, Rishikesh and the Clement Town and Garhi cantonments in Dehradun. At that time, the DM has said that the administration is imposing curfew in these areas only because most of the Covid-19 positive cases in the district are being found here. However, due to the rise in the positive cases in other parts of the district, the DM has issued orders to impose Covid curfew in areas under the municipalities of Mussoorie, Doiwala, Vikasnagar and Herbertpur from Thursday till 5 AM on May 3. According to the DM’s orders, the previously issued guidelines must be followed in these areas with an amendment that now the grocery stores, meat shops, dairies, ration shops, bakeries and vegetables and fruits shops would be closed at 2 PM till the further orders.
