Dehradun DM orders action to make govt land encroachment-free

PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/Dehradun

District Magistrate (DM) Savin Bansal has directed the officers concerned that the government land, buildings, roads, canals, and other properties in the district should be cleared of all illegal occupations. He made it clear that if officers fail to take action within the deadline, their salaries will be stopped and they may face suspension and other strict action.

He gave the order while chairing 5th interdepartmental review meeting on Wednesday. The DM gave strict instructions that all illegal encroachments must be removed within a fixed time. He told officers that the Chief Minister and senior officials of the State administration are closely monitoring this campaign.

On a stern note, the DM warned the Executive Officer (EO) of Herbertpur to face suspension if the encroachments in his area are not removed within two days.   He instructed all departments to submit updated reports of their properties and encroachment status within two days. He said during the anti-encroachment drive, videography, site mapping, checking revenue records, and proper security arrangements must be done to avoid disputes later.
