Wednesday, 06 SEPTEMBER 2023 | PNS | DEHRADUN

In latest news from Dehradun, Uttarakhand has been reeling under power outages for hours amid scorching heat with the demand-supply mismatch deepening. According to the Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited officers, in a first, the electricity demand has spiraled to over five crore units in the month of September. Due to its inability to meet the steep demand spike, the UPCL has been going for power outages in the rural regions as well as the small towns.  The rural belts of Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts are having power outages for a couple of hours daily while the same is happening in small towns like Vikasnagar, Doiwala, Kotdwar, Jwalapur, Khatima, Ramnagar, Gadarpur and Bajpur.
