Uttarakhand government has appointed former officer of Indian Police Services Dalip Singh Kunwar as the new Information Commissioner of the State. He assumed charge on Wednesday.
Kunwar has held many important positions in the Uttarakhand Police and is known to be an upright and honest officer.
In his long career, Kunwar has served as deputy inspector general ( DIG) Intelligence and senior superintendent of Police ( SSP) Dehradun.
The appointment of Kunwar assumes significance in view of the fact that all the posts of IC barring one are vacant at present.
