Welcoming the budget presented by the State government in the ongoing budget session of the Vidhan Sabha, the Bharatiya Janata Party stated that it was an authentic document of the all-round development of all residents of Uttarakhand. The BJP State president and Rajya Sabha member Mahendra Bhatt said that a deficit budget is now a thing of the past. The revenue surplus budget presented by the State government will play a decisive role in making Uttarakhand a developed State through new, practical and bold decisions.

He said, “This budget will fulfill the developmental aspirations of the public. We have ended the tendency for statements of account of expenditures and loss exhibited by past governments of the opposition. Moving forward with the budgetary tradition of development and answerability, our government has come up with a budget of Rs 1,11,703 crore with an increase of about 10 per cent. What is very positive in this budget is that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guidance, we are working with a focus on the empowerment of the poor, youth, farmers and women. The main mantra of developing the State is self-reliance and this budget will take Uttarakhand forward in this direction,” the BJP State president said.

He further claimed that this budget is an authentic document to show the work being undertaken by the government to make Uttarakhand prosperous, strong and self-reliant. Along with infrastructural and systematic requirements, special focus has been laid on welfare schemes for the poor, employment and skill development for youth, increasing farmers’ income and women empowerment. Considerable provision has also been made in the budget for enhancing rural connectivity through PMGSY, rural employment through VB-G RAM G and social security, Bhatt added.
