The vice president of Uttarakhand Congress Suryakant Dhasmana has demanded that the allegation of theft of gold and offerings in Badrinath and Kedarnath temples and massive theft of donations made to Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya should be investigated under the supervision of a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC).
He said that the allegation of theft of donations and offerings at Badrinath Dham are extremely serious. Addressing a press conference at Rajiv Bhawan on Saturday, he said that these allegations coming on the heels of massive theft of offerings at the Shri Ram temple in Ayodhya have hurt the sentiments of millions of followers of Sanatan Dharma. He said the allegations of theft in Badrinath temple should be investigated by either State police or a central agency under the supervision of a JPC.
Dhasma said that BJP’s double engine governments in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand are responsible for these thefts. He said that the Shri Ram Mandir Trust and the Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) have been constituted by the BJP governments.
Dhasmana alleged that the case of theft of 223 kilograms of gold from the Kedarnath temple was hushed up by the BKTC and the State BJP government. He said that the people of the state and the country do not trust the investigating agencies of the BJP government, therefore the investigations should be done under the supervision of the JPC.
