Chief electoral officer BVRC Purushottam virtually reviewed preparations for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in the State. All district magistrates/district election officers, municipal commissioners, all sub district election officers and electors registration officers were issued directions for successful implementation of the SIR. He directed the officials to ensure that the exercise is conducted successfully as per the instructions of the Election Commission of India.
The BLOs should be trained properly for SIR to ensure they work efficiently in the field and to minimise the scope for any error. Special focus should also be laid on ensuring that the BLAs of political parties are also present during the revision work. Officials should also sit with local public representatives to inform them about the revision work to prevent any doubt, he said. Udham Singh Nagar district magistrate Nitin Singh Bhadauriya, ADM Kaustubh Mishra, municipal commissioner Shipra Joshi and others were present in the meeting.
