The Bharatiya Janata Party stated that with a lack of workers and ideas, the Congress has become incapable of grassroots politics- forcing it to be more occupied in spreading confusion by raising false complaints about the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) and creating drama.
Addressing the media at the BJP State headquarters here on Friday, its State general secretary Tarun Bansal said that the opposition had raised the issue of SIR before the elections in Bihar, Assam and West Bengal, but after seeing the mandate, the issue was sidelined.
Bansal stated that this constitutional process is not being conducted for the first time in Uttarakhand. It’s another matter that it has always been conducted during Congress rule, and perhaps they have had experience with malpractices. Based on this, they are also skeptical of this transparent process. However, SIR is being conducted for the first time under the BJP government, and this constitutional process is being carried out with full protocol.
Bansal said that it seems the SIR process may not have been followed during the Congress regime, rules may have been ignored for appeasement politics and they may have committed irregularities during their term in office. He questioned whether Congress wants a person’s vote to be placed in two places, or someone who is no longer alive to have their name removed, or someone who casts a vote using incorrect information to elect the government? Still, if Congress has an issue with any objection, there’s no need for so much hue and cry.
If there’s a false objection, the Election Commission will examine it, and if there are still doubts, there’s a process for submitting relevant documents, Bansal added.
