The Dehradun district administration is gearing up for the Jagda fair which will be organised at Chalda Mahasu Maharaj temple on September 18 and 19. Over 20,000 devotees are expected to participate in the fair.
The district magistrate Sonika held a meeting with officials of departments concerned regarding the preparations for the fair. She instructed the authorities to make security arrangements in and around the fair along with the traffic police for better traffic arrangements.
She also instructed officials to install CCTV cameras on the nearby routes leading to the fair besides keeping fire fighting vehicles stationed nearby. The officials were also directed to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply while making alternate arrangements for electricity. She also directed the transport department to ensure only small public transport vehicles operate on the route during the Yatra of pilgrims.
She also asked the health department to make proper arrangements in Tyuni and nearby primary health centres and local government hospitals while deploying a medical team along with an ambulance to the location. She also asked officials to keep two dustbins and mobile toilets available near the location of the fair.
