PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Dehradun

The Dehradun district administration is all set to take strict action against the owner of the resort who illegally diverted the river at Kisanpuri Bandawali in Maldevta. Due to the construction, about 150 meters of road has been completely washed away, resulting in damage of Rs six crore worth government property.  Taking a stern view of the matter, the district magistrate, Savin Bansal ordered a high-level investigation while conducting an on-site inspection of the area

After safely evacuating people trapped in the disaster-affected areas of Dehradun, the district administration is now busy restoring roads, electricity, water and other essential facilities disrupted following the heavy downpour.  Notably, the DM and the chief development officer, Abhinav Shah inspected the damaged roads and motor bridges at Maldevta, Dwara Pul, Khairi Dhanaula, Kisanpur Bandawali and Kothalgate on Mussoorie Road. They directed PWD to repair the damaged roads and bridges and ensure smooth traffic movement at the earliest.

The DM also conducted an on-site inspection of the damaged bridge near Kothal Gate on Dehradun Mussoorie motor road and the construction work of the Bailey bridge there. Due to the damage to the motor bridge near Kothal Gate, Mussoorie remained cut off. The movement of light vehicles has, however, resumed through the Bailey bridge.
