The major tourist places spread across Uttarkashi are likely to be developed in a theme-based manner to help tourists with an attractive and memorable experience. While reviewing the schemes and programmes being executed by the Tourism department here on Thursday, the district magistrate, Prashant Arya presented this idea to the officers concerned. He especially stressed on the beautification and systematic development of places with high tourist footfall, saying that promoting tourism activities is directly linked to the economic development of the district and employment of the local people.
He stressed on using wall paintings and murals at major tourist destinations and places with high tourist footfall to aesthetically showcase local culture, tradition, and natural beauty. “These efforts would not only enhance tourist attractions but also provide new opportunities for tourists to share photos and experiences,” he said, adding that signage should be made more prominent to ensure that tourists from other States and countries do not face any difficulties in finding their way.
