5 dengue, 3 Covid-19 cases reported in Doon on Wednesday

Five new cases of dengue and three cases of Covid-19 were reported in Dehradun district on Wednesday. The chief medical officer (CMO) of Dehradun, Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma stated that out of the five people tested positive for dengue, three have been admitted to Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, one to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishkesh and one to the OPD of Himalayan Hospital. This raises the cumulative number of confirmed dengue cases in the district to 138 with 72 cases originating from Dehradun and 66 from other districts or states.
Dr Sharma further said that there are currently 22 active dengue patients under treatment: 11 at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, four each at Himalayan Hospital and All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh and one at Graphic Era Hospital while two are recuperating at home.
Dr Sharma said that three local cases have tested positive for Covid-19 on Wednesday, taking the total to 70 cases consisting of 58 local residents and 12 migrants. Currently, there are five active Covid-19 cases in the district with one patient receiving treatment at the Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) and one at Kailash Hospital while three others are convalescing at home.
