Doon enthused to mark first anniversary of Ram Mandir consecration

Attendants of various temples in Dehradun have prepared to commemorate the first anniversary of the consecration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. It will be recalled that the consecration took place on January 22, 2024. At that time, the celebrations extended beyond Ayodhya, reaching temples and devotees throughout the country and abroad. Similarly, this year, many temples in Dehradun have been decorated with lights and the attendants are planning to organise celebratory activities, including Bhajan and Kirtan to mark the first anniversary of the Ram Mandir consecration on January 22.

In the city, numerous temples have been observed adorned with lights and various decorative elements.

In this context, a priest from the temple near Dharampur Chowk, Hari Dimri said that in anticipation of the first anniversary of the consecration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, they are preparing to make this celebration memorable in the city. They have decided to begin regular recitations of Bhajan and Kirtan one week prior to January 22. Further, they have plans to acquire new garments for the effigies of the lords in the temple. On January 22, to commemorate the anniversary of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir, Prasads will also be distributed outside the temple, he stated.

“We have adorned our colony temple with lights in preparation for the upcoming celebration. On January 22, which marks the completion of one year since the consecration of Ayodhya, our colony temple will be decorated with flowers. Additionally, a Sunderkand event is planned for that day,” said a member of the temple committee near Patelnagar, Vibhu Gupta.

Beyond the temple festivities, there is a noticeable enthusiasm among local residents to commemorate the anniversary of the Ram Mandir consecration. Local resident Pushpa Kumari informed about her intention to host a Hawan at her home in honour of the consecration anniversary of Ram Mandir. She expressed her belief that this day will be commemorated annually across the nation.
