Doon police steps up security arrangements for Eid

Dehradun police have made all necessary security arrangements in the district to step up the security in view of Eid-ul-Fitr on Saturday. The senior superintendent of police Daleep Singh Kunwar said that the police have divided the whole district into various sections to ensure stringent security at every level. He said that the police have broadly divided the district into two super zones which have been further divided into eight zones, 21 sectors and 46 sub-sectors.
He said that a separate in-charge has been appointed for each zone and sector. Senior officials have been appointed as in-charges of super zones and the eight zones. The station house officers and sub-inspectors have been appointed as in-charges of sectors and sub-sectors respectively, said Kunwar. He said that all police stations and posts in-charges and other personnel concerned have been instructed to constantly inspect their respective areas throughout the day to keep a vigilant eye on miscreants. He said that since a large number of people of Muslim community offer prayers on Eid, the police have also prepared a route plan for Saturday and will divert the routes around Eidgahs to prevent any inconvenience to them.
The police have conducted several meetings with the representatives of Muslim community and appealed to them to celebrate the festival in peace and harmony. He said that the police have also asked them to inform the police immediately if they notice anything that can potentially disturb law and order in any area of the city.
