CM Dhami orders magisterial probe into Roorkee accident
The driver of a sub divisional magistrate (SDM) died while the SDM was critically injured when their car met with an accident in Roorkee on Tuesday. The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has given orders for a magisterial inquiry to investigate the accident.
The accident occurred on the Laksar –Roorkee road on Tuesday in which the vehicle of the SDM of Laksar, Sangeeta Kanaujia collided with a truck.
The SDM was travelling from Haridwar to Laksar via Roorkee in her official car when the mishap occurred near the bridge across Solani river. The car driver- PRD jawan Govind died on the spot. A crowd gathered at the site after the mishap and informed the police. The SDM was first taken to a hospital in Roorkee from where she was later referred to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Rishikesh.
The CM sought information about the accident from the district magistrate of Haridwar. Expressing deep sorrow at the death of the driver of the SDM’s vehicle, the CM prayed for peace to the departed soul. He also prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured SDM Sangeeta Kanuajia.
