Traders urge municipal council to reconsider trade license fee

PNS/ NAINITAL

In latest news from Uttarakhand, the office bearers of Nainital Hotel and Restaurant Association and Udyog Vyapar Mandal appealed to the Nainital Municipal Council to spare the small traders the trade license fee during a joint meeting held here.   Notably, the civic body proposed to impose the fee on 129 trades operating in the town. Many of the hotels are coming under its purview. The proposal is still pending following a demonstration organised against it.  They presented their point of view on the matter while meeting the council’s chairperson Saraswati Khetwal.

Speaking on the issue, the president of the association Digvijay Singh Bisht said that he had talked to the former chairperson and former executive officer of the council.

Khetwal said that the final decision on the trade license would be taken after a special meeting of the Municipal Board.
