Dehradun District Sports Office (DSO) will organise district-level selection trials for formation of Uttarakhand State team for All India Civil Services competitions.According to officials, trials will be held on September 30 at 9 AM. Athletics, weightlifting, powerlifting and swimming for men and women, along with cricket for men, will be held at Maharana Pratap Sports College.
Badminton, basketball, carrom, kabaddi, yoga, chess and wrestling for men and women will be held at the multipurpose hall at Parade Ground. Hockey and kho-kho for women will be held at Pavilion Ground.Lawn tennis and volleyball for men and women will be held at Parade Ground, whereas table tennis will be held at table tennis hall, Parade Ground.Officials informed that only full-time government employees, excluding police and army, can participate in selection trials. Players selected in district trials will participate in State-level trials to be held on October 7 and 8.
For participation, players will have to produce an Aadhaar card, departmental identity proof/appointment letter, photo ID, e-mail ID and declaration form regarding participation in past years, they added.
Cross-country race on Oct 1 to mark Gandhi Jayanti
DEHRADUN: Dehradun District Sports Office (DSO) will organise a cross-country race in Doon on October 1 to mark the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. The DSO is organising a cross-country race for under-12, under-16, under-21 boys/girls, open women/men and veteran women/men (40-50, 50-60 and 60+) age groups on October 1 at 6:30 AM at Pavilion Ground. Officials further informed that the race will begin at Pavilion Ground and conclude at Pavilion Ground, passing through Kanak Chowk, Ashley Hall Chowk, Behl Chowk, Dilaram Chowk, Brahma Kamal Chowk and Mussoorie Diversion. Participants must bring a photocopy of their Aadhaar card.
