In latest news from Doon, citing heavy workload, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) asked the former forest minister Harak Singh Rawat and his daughter- in- law Anukriti Gusain not to appear before it on April 2 as scheduled earlier. In connection with the ongoing probe related to the alleged irregularity involving the Pakhro range of the Corbett Tiger Reserve, the duo was to appear before the central agency for questioning. The assistant director ED Abhay Kumar is learnt to have mailed the Congress veteran and Anukriti, asking them not to appear before it for interrogation on the alleged scam on April 2. A new date would be fixed soon for their questioning, ED sources said.
Notably, Harak Singh had been summoned twice by ED but he had skipped these, pleading for time in view of his poll-engagement.
