No appeal received regarding objection or claim on electoral rolls: Purushottam

The Election Commission of India has received not even a single appeal regarding the objections/ claims on the final electoral roll of Uttarakhand published on the basis of the eligibility date of January 01, 2025.
Under the provisions of ECI any affected person can file first appeal regarding claims and objections in the electoral rolls through the office of district magistrate/ additional district magistrate or district collector concerned. The second appeal can be done at the office of chief electoral officer (CEO).
The Uttarakhand CEO BVRC Purushottam said that as per the reports from the districts, no appeal was received regarding claims and objections on the electoral rolls in the State. He said that as per the directives of the ECI, meetings with the representatives of the political parties have been done. The political parties have been requested to appoint booth level agents. He informed that any citizen who has completed 18 years of age on January 1, April 01 and will attain this age on July 01 or October 01 can apply to include his/her name in the electoral roll by submitting Form VI.
