Education department to fill 2,364 vacant posts of class IV workers

 The Education department will soon undertake a recruitment drive to fill 2,364 vacant posts of class IV workers. These posts will be filled with the help of outsourcing agencies and local youngsters will be given priority in the recruitment. These workers will be given a remuneration of Rs 15,000 per month.

 Education minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that the government has given its approval to the proposal to convert 2,364 posts of class IV workers classified as a dead cadre into the outsource posts. A government order (GO) regarding it has been issued. He said that the government has converted 334 posts of class IV workers in office of director general, director secondary education, primary education directorate, State Council of Education Research and Training, board office Ramnagar, offices of additional directors in Garhwal and Kumaon divisions, all District Institutes of Education and Training, all offices of Chief Education Officers and District Education Officers (primary and secondary) into outsource posts.

Similarly two posts of peon and one post of sanitation worker have been converted to outsource in the Inter Colleges having more than 1,000 students.  The Inter Colleges having 500 to 1,000 students will have one post each of peon and Chowkidar while the schools having less than 500 students will have one post of Chowkidar. He clarified that the system of reservation will be followed in the recruitment process.

Rawat said that the State government is engaged in providing human resources to the Education department apart from strengthening its structure. He said that the officers of the department have been directed to expedite the process of recruitment.
