In stern action, Dehradun police have seized 18 bullet motorcycles for reckless riding and for using modified silencers which produced firecracker-like sounds.
The action was taken following directions from senior superintendent of police (SSP) Dehradun, Pramendra Dobal. Police said that an intensive checking drive is being carried out across the district. During the campaign, police teams are checking vehicles at various locations and taking legal action against those who break traffic rules.
As part of the drive, Clement Town police station conducted special checking in its area. Police action focused on riders who had installed modified silencers in their motorcycles to create loud bursting noises. A total of 18 Bullet motorcycles were seized for traffic violations and disturbing public peace, police stated.
