Cabinet expansion to put an end to leadership change talk in Uttarakhand

By giving green signal to chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to fill all the vacant five berths of his cabinet, the top leadership of Bharatiya Janata Party has sent a clear message that Dhami will continue to head the government in the Himalayan State.
The crucial Vidhan Sabha elections in State are less than 10-11 months away and the expansion of the State cabinet at this point of time shows that the ruling BJP will enter the electoral battle of 2027 under the leadership of CM Dhami and Mahendra Bhatt, the president of Uttarakhand BJP.
Pertinently, the BJP had effected a change of guard by changing CMs in the past ahead of the Vidhan Sabha elections to counter anti-incumbency. It is also clear that the central leadership of BJP has also given Dhami a free hand in selection of the new cabinet ministers which also shows that the CM has full backing of the party high command.
