Ensure error free, transparent counting of votes: DM

The district magistrate of Haridwar Karmendra Singh has said that the process of counting of votes for the urban local body elections in the district should be completed in a fool proof and transparent manner. He gave the instruction while presiding over a training workshop organized for personnel assigned the responsibility of counting of votes at the convention hall of BHEL.
On stern note he warned that discrepancy and dereliction of duty in the vote counting process will not be tolerated.
He said that all the personnel should reach the counting room on time and the counting should start on time. “ The candidates and agents could be under stress during the voting process but you will have to work impartially, remain calm while showing decency. Under no circumstances should the ballot papers of the Chairman and the ward member should get mixed,’’ he said.
The chief development officer Akanksha Kaunde said that every point has been clarified by the State Election Commission. She said that every ballot paper is important and the counting of votes should be done in a fair and honest manner.
Nodal officer training KN Tiwari and master trainer Santosh Kumar Chamola gave a detailed presentation on the process of counting.
