The chief development officer of Dehradun district Jharna Kamthan has directed the officials concerned to work efficiently to dispose of the complaints of people to ensure the same complaints do not need to be addressed again in the public hearing. She stated this during a public hearing in the collectorate on Monday which was attended by officials of several departments including civic bodies, police and district administration among others. She instructed the officials concerned to make sure that the complaints received in the public hearing are disposed of on priority to avoid any inconvenience to the complainant. She asked them to make a list of those complaints that will possibly take time to get disposed of while informing the complainant about the same to ensure they do not have to visit officials in the collectorate unnecessarily.
Most of the people approached the district administration with complaints regarding land fraud and land encroachment cases in various parts of the district, especially in the Vikasnagar and Doiwala areas. Kamthan directed the sub divisional magistrate of Vikasnagar to address complaints of encroachment of land in East Hopetown and Herbertpur areas along with the encroachment of roads in the Umedpur area of the block through the virtual medium. She also directed the Tehsildar of Doiwala to investigate the case of encroachment on forest land in the Ramnagar Danda area. The CDO also received the complaint regarding excessive mining against the law in the Rajpur area considering which, she directed the officials concerned to file an FIR against the responsible party apart from imposing a challan.
