Expedite process & start building Rispana-Bindal elevated road: Bardhan

Chief secretary Anand Bardhan said that the Rispana-Bindal elevated road project will play a major role in resolving traffic congestion in Dehradun. He directed the officials concerned to complete the official formalities for this project soon. The chief secretary also directed the officials of Public Works Department (PWD) and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to regularly monitor their important projects. Bardhan said this while chairing a meeting with the officials concerned to review the status of important projects in the State on Tuesday.

Bardhan said that the Rispana-Bindal elevated road project is vital for resolving traffic congestion in the provisional State capital. He directed the officials to complete the official formalities to ensure that construction of this project begins soon. He said that important projects like the Rispana-Bindal elevated road and the Tehri ring road are reviewed on a weekly basis in order to ensure that they are completed on time. Talks should be held with the Finance department regarding the various options for funding these projects. The priority of all the projects should be ascertained and the officials should ensure that these are completed on time, the chief secretary said.

Reviewing NHAI projects, Bardhan said that necessary steps should be taken to complete these works on time. Work on the Haridwar-Nagina Road should be completed soon. He further said that this is a very important project considering the ensuing Char Dham Yatra and the 2027 Kumbh. In addition to this, the work on the construction of the Ballupur- Paonta Sahib Road should also be expedited, the chief secretary said. Secretary Pankaj Pande, additional secretaries Vijay Kumar Jogdande, Vinit Kumar and Vishal Gupta from the NHAI, among other officials concerned, were also present in the meeting.
