Panchayati Raj minister casts vote in Sediakhal village

Panchayati Raj minister Satpal Maharaj cast his vote on Thursday in the Sediakhal village to reinforce the Panchayati Raj System. It’s worth noting that voting for the first phase of the three-tier Panchayat elections took place across 12 districts in the State on Thursday. Maharaj visited booth number 56 at the government primary school in Sediakhal, situated in the Pokhra block of his Assembly constituency Chaubattakhal, to exercise his right to vote. After casting his ballot, Maharaj urged rural voters throughout the State to participate in large numbers in order to strengthen democracy and help establish a village government in the Panchayat elections, ultimately empowering and fostering development in the villages.

The Panchayati Raj minister stated that voting will occur in two phases across 12 districts in the State, excluding Haridwar district. The first phase is scheduled for July 24, followed by the second phase on July 28. He emphasised the importance of electing a dedicated and honest representative for the village government. To reinforce Panchayati Raj institutions and ensure the successful execution of development projects, he urged informed rural voters to engage in the voting process, as this will further strengthen democracy.
